TOPIC: ACADEMIC DESERTION.
Academic desertion has been
increasing in my region there is a certain number of students who are leaving
the classroom by different factors such as: personal, family, recruitment by armed
groups, early pregnancies etc.
JUSTIFICATION.
School desertion originates
by various parameters, it can be voluntary or forced, in the economic aspect,
it is due to the insufficiency of income in the homes, this is a decisive factor
for the school dropout, school attendance expenses, which increases the need to
work and therefore the school drop-out, as personal deserting students abandon
their adolescence and start a life of adults with responsibilities, such as
maintaining a family, caring for children for which they are not prepared or
prepared, because they do not have sufficient psychological maturity to solve
problems of various kinds. "Many cases of school drop-out have to do with
premature pregnancies, in the family it is because they are not aware of the student
and there is no support as such, but it is also very important to highlight the
presence and recruitment by armed groups it is very worrying because in my
region the student desertion is getting bigger.
THE NEED TO STUDY IT.
It is essential to study
this problem, because not only is it being presented in my region but also at a
national level, as previously I mentioned school dropout is due to various
causes, generating serious consequences that affect the personal, economic and
social development of young people should not be rejected is not an easy
problem to attend to; therefore, it is necessary to carry out various measures,
involving parents, parents, students, teachers, educational authorities and
students, so that they commit themselves to mitigate this problem for the
common good of the family, the community and the country
SPECIFYING A PURPOSE.
The desertion is the interruption or
disengagement of students from their studies, it is an event that although it
happens to the child has causes and consequences in educational institutions,
families, or the education system. To
cover this problem, a survey was conducted of 12 people in the region among
young people and adults to determine which the main problems that this entails
are.
JUSTIFICATION.
There are
different ways of understanding school desertion.
Depending on their duration, the dropout may be
temporary or definitive, some children who drop out of a course may enroll the
following year (temporary desertion) while in other cases students who drop out
do not return to the educational system.
In Colombia, students drop out of their studies, be it
basic, middle or higher, this can be done due to family disintegration, lack of
economic resources, little job stability of parents, early pregnancy. Tinto
(1982) and Giovagnoli (2002), you can understand the desertion as a situation
that a student faces when he aspires and fails to complete his educational
project
THE IMPORTANCE OF STUDYING IT.
This research seeks, in addition to increasing access
opportunities at all levels, to focus efforts on reducing attrition and
promoting the graduation of students, for this reason strategies such as the
following will be implemented, aimed at reducing existing gaps by area,
poverty, level of education, academic level and access to resources that
increase this phenomenon.
Design, implement and strengthen new schemes for the
provision of educational services for different areas and diverse and
vulnerable populations at all educational levels.
Strengthening the financing of education to improve
efficiency and equity in the allocation, transfer and use of resources for
pre-school, primary and secondary education.
Provide more
and better spaces to serve the student population at all levels.
Development and implementation of permanency strategies
relevant to the needs by type of territorial entity and area, ages, diverse and
vulnerable populations, such as ethnic groups, children with special
educational needs and those affected by violence and emergency disaster, among
others .
Development and implementation of incentives for the
strengthening of educational permanence.
Implement strategic alliances with certified
territorial entities and allies of the education sector, to seek effectiveness
in actions and optimization of resources and increase efforts to generate
responsibility in society on access and school permanence.
RESULTS.
This survey was a representative sample of the
population or students, in order to know their opinion about what was the
desertion and what are the main factors that influence it, when carrying out
this research activity, I was able to analyze the factors that influence the
school drop-out due to family problems, lack of support, and early pregnancies.
In order to carry out a clearer analysis, graphs were
created where the data obtained by each of the questions made is evident.
DISCUSSION.
After knowing what are the main factors that influence
the appearance of school desertion in the community, I think that the desertion
can have consequences because students who leave school often join organized
crime, lack of work or work bad payed.
Faced with the failure of a student, I consider that
the primary issue that should be questioned is whether the student has the
intellectual needs required by the school programs and what would be the most
objective way to deal with the problem, thus avoiding another desertion.
